When we first started working with cameras one of the first things we learned was about F Stop and shutter speeds. Both are very important when trying to get a good, clear, bright photo. To the left are my examples of F Stop and shutter speed. When taking photos, I noticed shutter speed and F Stop were very important especially when it came to whether or not I was taking a photo indoors or outdoors. The settings need to be different depending on the amount of light present at the time the photo was taken. I experimented for awhile and came up with four photos whose F Stops range from 4.5 to 7.1 and whose shutter speeds were 1/15 and 1/400.
Digital Photography was one of my favorite units in graphics class. These three pictures were apart of my "Series of Four" project. The goal was to take four pictures that related and in doing so the class also learned about F stop and shutter speed. We learned a lot about themes and what matches and what does not. We took numerous "themed" photos. This helped us learn more about F Stop and Shutter Speeds and also being able to edit the photos in Photoshop to better fit our themes.
My theme was objects that had pink in. The top photo turned out to be my favorite. I had a lot of fun during this project and learned a lot about photography. Also for these images and the digital photography unit we learned to use the CRAP elements. CRAP stands for Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, and Proximity. These are important when making a webpage, in photography, or when using the illustrator program. CRAP was a big part of graphics in general to help keep things organized.
